IT IS FINISHED!!!

...... Sort of. I did some layouts for my main contribution to the project this quarter. Of course in addition to this i planned and delegated tasks throughout the quarter and helped with technical issues in 3DS Max and UDK with everyone at some point as needed. Over all this has been an extremely eye opening experience on many levels. I feel i have found my calling but in the future i will have to be much more detailed and organized. I will have to play favorites as far as who i can trust to get things done as opposed to evenly distribute tasks. Admittedly there are things i could have done better and more thoroughly as producer, but i certainly hope i didnt let anyone down this quarter. This was just the beginning!!!!

Animatiorns ah-yup!!

Finished textures for Alien and animated the anim sets for walk/run cycle, firing and jumping. Perhaps i will do an idle too but im not sure we will need one since the aliens will be constantly moving and never really seen standing still. I will attempt to post a video showing the animations seeing as how i dont exactly know how to post videos on this thing.

Unwrap progress

Ive made progress on the unwrap although admittedly i am a little behind. My portfolio class has been stealing the majority of my time. However, i should have the unwrap finished before the end of class.

All your base mesh are belong to us

So i have arrived at the finished base mesh and am rather pleased. If i had more time there is much more i would like to do, but such is always the case. I am also pleased with the progress for the Colt base mesh and am excited to see the finished model for that as well. From this point we are going to hand the character models over to Thomas for rigging. First just building the bipeds while Ron and I start to unwrap these models. Then the following week we will give Thomas the unwrapped models to actually skin. I am currently putting together the tasks for the next 2 weeks for the rest of the team and will divy those out in class today. Hopefully there was good progress all around. I know Allen was having a problem with the particles that we will have to address in class, but other than that hopefully there are no other hitches.

Progress Progress progress

Personally the first week has gone smoothly. Ive made some good progress on the Alien model and am enjoying the opportunity to do even more character art. Its been interesting to approach this model since the art is more of an establishing silhouette, rather than a finished piece but i think that just means i have more room for interpretation and to make it my own. This next week i will finish the base mesh and send it to Thomas so he can start rigging.

On the management side for the most part everyone has made progress as well and we have implemented Anne's particles and Kirk's texture. I am a little concerned at the complete lack of any start on the Colt base mesh, however. But the benchmark is next week so we will have to see. If there is still nothing by then ill just take it on myself.
